The Domestic Energy Assessor Training Course Cash Machine
Thousands of people have paid out £thousands in training to become a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) - and still do - only to have found themselves feeling bitterly disillusioned, cheated and robbed. The promises commonly promoted by some Training Providers in their marketing material and sales-patter of a bright new future in a career with fantastic earnings, are far removed from current reality – They are simply a lure to fleece the unwary.
Some of the advertised claims of “chronic shortages” of DEAs and earnings of £70,000 a year made by Training Providers in local and national newspapers have recently been investigated by Radio 4’s ‘You and Yours‘ consumer program.
At the time of writing, there are currently at least 8 Training Course Providers - we are aware of - being investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority [Update: g-lec Skills Academy complaint upheld]. (more…)
